Why I Paint? - A free education with a small e.
I paints ‘meaty’ subjects, sometimes a ‘dark’ subject matter,
but n a feminine and soft way.
There’s a personal interest;
something thats going on around,
like in the media, politics, societee.
Through painting them,
sourcing photos, personal collection or public,
I get to know more about the subject, thing, situation, person/s,
feeling into the spaces between, the expressions, the forms,
Sharpening, weighing-up, shaping.
Where I stand on the subject is not always the same
as what I hear, am told, written or said.
Its a kind of freeing process. a state of looking again
at whats in front of me,
a restructuring, refining and reforming. A Creative process.
My paintings are not so medium specific.
its hard to say ‘No’ to wifi and its about space and time.
How many systems, economics systems and masssss media systems, social media inter web systems, political systems, belief systems, education systems
All morphing the organic.
I try to strengthen the inner real ‘measuring’ human
by confronting difficult issues,
otherwise I get overly lost.
Some of them are not really nice paintings -
But mostly people do not notice.
